The 8th Annual Ackerman Institute for the Family “Moving Families Forward Gala”
New York, NY October 27st, 2014– The 8th Annual Ackerman Institute for the Family “Moving Families Forward Gala” was held Monday, October 20th at The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
The 2014 Moving Families Forward Gala honored:
- Andrew Solomon, Internationally Acclaimed Award-winning Writer, Speaker, and Lecturer, with the Ackerman Partner Award.
- Linda Dishy, Ackerman Board Member, with the Ackerman Distinguished Service Award.
The gala was hosted by Tamsen Fadal, four-time Emmy-winning PIX 11 News Anchor, and host of Broadway Profiles. This is the third consecutive year that Tamsen has supported the gala, and her first as host. The gala benefits the vital programs and ongoing services for children, families, and adults at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.
Ackerman Institute for the Family’s Gala Co-Chairs were Martha Fling, Founder & Managing Member of Drake Libby, and Alice K. Netter. Honorary Chairs were John R. O’Neill, Managing Director, Alvarez & Marsal, & Kathleen O’Neill.
